Hi there. You make some interesting points

I am a journalism student at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis and I have to write a story on people from Beirut that come to America to escape the violence.

I was wondering if you, or anyone you know has sought refuge in the U.S.? Have you ever considered coming to the U.S. to get away from the violence? or is it something people just get used to?

Thank you very much for your time.

My email is tarr0011@umn.edu

Angel, although this is only ur second comment, u started to amaze me and even make me embarrassed with my thoughts. I write a tiny, simple, plain thought and u decorate it with ur beautiful words. Thanks for visiting and commenting, and ur decorated words are always welcome.

Tarr :) thanks for commenting.
As for Violence and Beirut, I think that they have become two faces to one coin.
It is not that people got used to the violence, it is that some people really want to leave but are unable due to many reasons. Whereas others would never leave no matter what happens. These people feel they need to deserve their land and thus they would not leave even at the worst moments, they have so much hope in Lebanon and are always optimistic no matter what happens.
As for me, I hope I would not ever be forced to leave Lebanon. None of the people I know left Lebanon recently, some did years ago before the war but not recently.
